Library Bites - Eating Local in NE in Winter

  • Waltham Public Library 735 Main Street Waltham, MA, 02451 United States (map)

What does eating local look like in the winter time in New England? Not long ago, everyone *knew* that New England only grows good food in the summer. But just a little earlier than that, nearly all food was local food. Now, with so much shipped in from thousands of miles away, where do you get local food? Is it worth the bother? And what does a winter holiday look like with local food at the center?

Kerry Kokkinogenis, Local Food Program Manager at SBN, will explore what eating local in the winter in New England means. Leave hungry and with a few recipes and ideas for your own table.
