Every day, we’re bombarded with headlines about environmental destruction, economic instability, and threats to our communities. But here at the Boston Local Food Program, we’re committed to a different narrative—one that connects, elevates, and celebrates the people who nourish us. For the past 15 years, we’ve supported local farms, fisheries, and food makers, recognizing them as the stewards of our land, water, and economy. We believe in this work and are taking a leap of faith to make this corner of the world a little better for everyone. Unlike industrial agriculture, our local farmers and fishermen actively restore and protect our natural resources, reinforcing our land for a healthier future. Yet, as grant funding shrinks and priorities shift, our local food community needs your support now more than ever.
Throughout the month of March, we are organizing the Sustainable Business Network's first Spring Fundraising Campaign in hopes of raising $5,000 to launch a Technical Assistance Pilot Program. The goal of the campaign is to connect with local consultants across various fields to create a dynamic and accessible program that supports small food businesses at every stage. Every entrepreneur encounters challenges, and having the right expert at the right time can unlock new opportunities for growth and success. Unlike larger companies, small businesses may not always have the resources to navigate these hurdles alone. Designed to provide tailored guidance and expertise, this initiative will help local food businesses thrive, innovate, and reach their full potential. As we launch this exciting new resource, we invite you to join us in making it a reality! It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Other ways to get involved
We have so many ways for you to get involved—volunteer, share your expertise, spread the word, or donate. Whatever you do, know that your support is helping to build a stronger, more resilient local food system.
